2017 Drive Meet & Greet

The Drive is a working class neighborhood located in Southeast Columbus GA. It's unofficial boundaries are between St Mary's to Steam Mill Rd and Northstar Drive & Wickham. The Drive is home to World Renown "Chesters Barbecue" & Rogers Taproom. There's also nearly a dozen churches nestled near or around the Drive. St James, Revelations Missionary Baptist Church & Peter's Chapel. As a youngster I actually went to Peter's Chapel with my mom JoAnne Flowers (formerly) Some of the well known family on the Drive are the Buckner's, Rogers, the Lakes, the Thornton's and I know I'm missing one and I'm sure someone is going to straighten me out lol.  

The Drive is also home to Shirley B Winston Super Rec. (first one in Columbus & Dawson Elementary. And we say the drive, you have to include Dawson Estates as well. Neighboring communities close to the Drive include (Columbia Heights, Belvedere Park, Bunker Hill and Dimon Wood a.k.a. D Wood. Really the Drive is kind of sectioned off in 3 parts. Up Top, Down Bottom and Dawson Estates. I'm from Up Top, the realest part of the Drive lol. #LetsArgue 😂😂😂😂 Down Bottom is the area in front of Dawson Elementary. 

Well that was a brief history lesson on the neighborhood I grew up in. God Bless those we loss along the way. Lonnie, CJ, George, Carolyn, Slim, C Mack, Keith Wolf just to name a few.
