Search & Rescue on the Chattahoochee River
I was doing a maternity shoot on the Phenix City side of the river and I captured this image of fire fighter and safety officials along the riverwalk. Sadly they were looking for someone who had drowned. Those ppl were really trying to recover the poor person who met his end and being it happened along our #1 tourist attraction they had to work extra swift which I can imagine added danger to an already dangerous job of recovering a body underwater. As a photographer I pose ppl for a living or advise in some cases. In this image I'm showing you what I saw, as it happened in real life. I watched those guys desperately search using jet skis and scuba gear I got an up close perspective of real life search and rescue operation which unfortunately didnt end well. Images like this show us the power of photography, the ability just for a split second to freeze time.
